At the end of last year, the European Commission published the Grid Action Plan (GAP), which highlights the urgent need to enhance Europe’s power distribution network to support the growing electricity demand. Action 9 of the GAP focuses on addressing financing obstacles for grid investments. This paper provides timely recommendations to contribute to the creation of effective financial instruments and mechanisms. In addition, it aims to support the upcoming Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028–2034.
