‘Equal by 30 Campaign’ advocates for gender equality in the clean energy sector
EDSO supports the ‘Equal by 30 Campaign’ which promotes gender equality in the clean energy sector, with several of its members being signatories to this initiative. ‘Equal by 30’ encourages public and private sector organisations to work towards equal pay, equal leadership and equal opportunities for women in the clean energy sector by 2030.
The initiative is led by the governments of Sweden and Canada and forms part of the Clean Energy Ministerial, a high-level global forum promoting policies and programmes that advance clean energy technology. Launched in Copenhagen on 24 May 2018, the campaign asks companies and governments to endorse principles and take concrete actions to accelerate women’s participation in this still predominantly male sector.
