EDSO Policy Workshop ‘What change will smart meter data bring to Europe’s electricity distribution networks?’
Policy Workshop ‘What change will smart meter data bring to Europe’s electricity distribution networks?’
13 October 2016 (14h00-16h00)
Hotel Renaissance, Rue du Parnasse 19, Brussels
Distribution system operators (DSOs) are embracing a new digital era. Distributed generation, electric vehicles, prosumers, storage and other smart devices prompt DSOs to increasingly rely on digital technologies for an optimal network operation. Moreover, smart meters which can serve as sensors at the end of low-voltage network lines, are being rolled out across Europe.
The workshop will debate the following questions:
• What data is needed by system operators and for what reasons?
• Who is responsible for operating data platforms, and for collecting/managing customers’ data?
• What is needed to guarantee a high level of data privacy and security for the consumer?
• How can DSOs become truly ‘digital DSOs’ and what obstacles need to be lifted?
The event is scheduled at the Hotel Renaissance in Brussels on 13 October from 14h00 to 16h00 and will be preceded by a welcome sandwich lunch from 13h00.
The objective is to gather main decision making representatives from the electricity distribution sector. A draft agenda for the workshop is now available. In order to confirm your participation or to get further information, please kindly send an email by clicking here
