EUSEW – Are the 2030 RES Targets achievable without Energy Storage?
EDSO, EASE, Eurelectric and GO15 European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) high-level policy conference
24 June 2014, 14:30-16:15, European Commission Charlemagne Building, Brussels, Belgium
In the context of the 2020 and potential 2013 targets, energy storage requirements are growing. Add to this the changing energy landscape, with the variability of major renewable energy sources like wind and solar PV, it is clear that a fast development of storage infrastructure is crucial to achieving the ambitious EU renewable energy targets. The aim of this event is to show how energy storage can increase energy efficiency and the integration of renewable energy on all levels of the energy system. To do this, the event will focus on the added value of energy storage across the entire value chain, starting at the generation level, over transmission and distribution, to the end-user.
