The OneNet Project consortium of 72 partners from 23 EU countries proudly announced the successful conclusion of the EU Horizon2020 funded OneNet Project, focused on building one electrical network infrastructure for Europe, and invited all the stakeholders to attend its final event which took place on 5 March 2024 in Brussels.
Over the past three years, OneNet Project has worked on a seamless integration of all the actors in the electricity network across Europe to create the conditions for a synergistic operation that optimizes the overall energy system while creating an open and fair market structure.
Key achievements of the project include:
- Define new and standardized products and services
- Identify appropriate market structures
- Design open IT architecture supported by scalable data management
- Implement architecture in a reference version as a basis for a European deployment
- Verify in a set of large field tests the solutions proposed by the project
- Create European level consensus involving all the key stakeholders
- Push the result of OneNet in the standardization process for a significant market uptake
The final event marked the culmination of years of innovation, collaboration, and transformative efforts in reshaping Europe’s electrical landscape, and focused on 3 macro topics: TSO-DSO coordination; customer engagement; data spaces.
