As climate change pushes DSOs to reshape their business models, HEDNO has facilitated the creation of an artificial intelligece-powered platform to elaborate data from LiDAR captures, Geographic Information System asset records and engineering data to build a full 3D digital model of their distribution network.
Thanks to the efficient integration of emerging technologies, the platform enabled the automated classification of LiDAR data and an accelerated digitalisation of HEDNO’s network. The resulting 3D digital model supports the planning and execution of vegetation and clearance management and will enhance the resilience of HEDNO’s network against extreme weather events and wildfires.
