In order to optimise the maintenance and renovation of its extensive 20 kV overhead network, Enedis launched the DORA program which will support the reinforcement of 8’000 km of overhead lines every year and their upgrade to the latest construction standards. By combining artificial intelligence models applied to photos captured by drones with big data processing of information from Enedis Geographic Information System, DORA accelerates the replacement decision process.
Currently deployed in all regional divisions of Enedis and used every day by employees carrying out diagnostics, DORA can accurately identify almost all possible types of anomalies on overhead networks. The use of the system also allowed for the harmonisation of renewal practices among field technicians.
